Nostalgia - Golden Churn 500g BBE 02 Nov 1990

OK, you are probably wondering where I got such an old tub of butter from. Well, the truth is there wasn't any butter in it. Which is lucky, as it's 1998 now, and that would have made it about 8 years out of date.

Anyway, onto the barcode. It's probably the same as the current Golden Churn 500g Barocdes, but I couldn't be bothered to check, and this was the oldest barcode I could find at the time of writing. It's a standard 13-digit barcode, bearing the number 5000224013256. Being butter, the first five digits are the same as the ones on an old box of 500g Clover. The start of the code is very pretty, with a nice thick-thin-thin thick-thin thick thin pattern. After the centre divider, however, it all goes a bit pear-shaped and ugly looking. However, the keen butter-barcode enthusiast will still want to get hold of this generally attractive barcode.
